Philanthropy Forum for Southwest Georgia
The Georgia Rural Philanthropy Initiative will host a Philanthropy Forum for Southwest Georgia in Albany and Thomasville on May 1 and 2. Sponsored in partnership by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, the Sapelo Foundation, the Georgia Rural Development Council, and the Southeastern Council of Foundations, the initiative seeks to build the capacity of nonprofits to raise funds for their missions, strengthen the nonprofit leadership in rural Georgia, and build stronger relationships among the region's nonprofit organizations. James Carville to Keynote Georgia Nonprofit Summit
James Carville, noted political consultant and co-host of CNN's Crossfire, will be the keynote speaker for the 12th annual Georgia Nonprofit Summit on June 3 at Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Carville previously served as an adviser to former Governor Zell Miller and former President Bill Clinton. Workshops will include topics such as improving nonprofit effectiveness, presentations by nonprofit "experts," roundtable discussions with community leaders, and networking opportunities.
