HealthTRAK Tracks Issues for Informed Policy Decisions The Women's Policy Group and Women's Policy Education Fund have launched HealthTRAK Georgia, a centralized source of web-based and printed material analyzing health policy in Georgia. The service monitors the status of current health care legislation in the Georgia General Assembly and tracks 12 areas critical to addressing the state's public health crisis. The goal of the service is to improve the breadth and quality of participation in state health care policy decisions by informing and educating legislators, advocacy groups, direct service providers, and consumers. HealthTRAK Georgia was introduced at the recent 13th Annual Georgia Women's Assembly, "Informed Women & the Power of Policy," held at the Loudermilk Center in Atlanta. The Assembly featured discussions on health care, economic self-sufficiency, and the state budget. Workshops covered topics including unemployment insurance reform, the living wage, TANF reauthorization, the state budget, lobbying, running for office, the Georgia Health Care Project, comprehensive health care coverage, and anticipated issues in health care. The Women's Policy Group collaborates with Family Connection Partnership on policy papers and issues that affect women, families, and communities.
