Project Safe Place - Where Teens Get Help Fast

Volunteers and sites are needed for Project Safe Place, a national program of The Gwinnett Children's Shelter that gives teenagers in trouble a place to go for help.

Stores, businesses, and other public locations in the community display the Safe Place sign on their premises. When a teenager comes to a Safe Place location, an employee calls the local shelter, which then sends a trained volunteer to the site to assist the youth. The volunteer can transport the youth to the emergency shelter or call the parents.

Volunteers attend training on Safe Place procedures and crisis intervention. For more information call (678) 546-8770.
