Region 7 Receives Federal Grant

Eight counties in Region 7 collectively applied for and received a federal grant from the Health, Resources, & Services Administration. Glascock, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren, and Wilkes counties recently received the grant for $198,000 each year for three years. The counties will be working with families in the areas of drug prevention, nutrition, exercise and fitness, and teen pregnancy prevention.

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will serve as the fiscal agent. Mary Ann Kotras of McDuffie County will serve as the project director. Marcell Johnson is the Region 7 Community Facilitator for Family Connection Partnership.
