The City of Valdosta invites the public to a Citizen's Forum to seek comments on concerns about neighborhoods, housing and community development needs, and proposed neighborhood revitalization. The forum will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 5:30 p.m., at Morning Star Baptist Church, located at 761 S. Troup, in Valdosta. For more information call (229) 259-3571.

Reading Disabilities and AD/HD: Enhancing Student Achievement conference will be held Sept. 18 - 19 in Baton Rouge, La. The conference is for elementary and secondary educators, school administrators, academic therapists, parents, psychologists, social workers, and guidance counselors. http://groups.msn.com/RDADHD/

The 2003 Georgia Youth Summit will be held Sept. 20 - 22 at the Rock Eagle 4-H Conference Center near Eatonton. The summit brings together nearly 1,000 youth and adults to envision the future of Georgia and take action to make it happen. National Disability Mentoring Day is Oct. 15. The day promotes career development for students and job seekers with disabilities through one-on-one job shadowing, group visits to public and private employers, and hands-on career exploration. http://www.aapd-dc.org
