SIDS Death Rate Drops in Georgia

Georgia's death rate from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS, has dropped, according to recent news from the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR). The report says that "in 2001, 112 Georgia babies died from SIDS. Deaths from SIDS have declined by 42 percent in Georgia over the past 11 years, down from 162 in 1990." The report contributes much of the decline to DHR's "Back to Sleep" campaign and other state, local and national organizations.
