Video Clips of First Lady's Summit Available Online

Video sound bytes of the launch of the First Lady's Our Children Campaign are now available for viewing at http://gov.state.ga.us/document.asp?doc=summit/summit_info.
The site features speeches from Georgia's First Lady Mary Perdue, Governor Perdue, Shane Salter, Ann Cramer, and Bishop Harold Dawson.

Mrs. Perdue launched the campaign in August as a statewide effort to energize community resources on behalf of Georgia's abused and neglected children. The event was anchored in Atlanta from the studios of Georgia Public Television. Family Connection Partnership (FCP) served as regional coordinator of the event, while FCP community facilitators from across the state led regional discussions broadcast simultaneously from Tifton, Columbus, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, Dalton, and Toccoa. Nearly 440 people participated statewide.

The goal of the summit was to encourage collaboration among Georgia's many communities — individuals, corporations, organizations, foundations and faith-based communities — and to increase the level of volunteerism around the state on behalf of Georgia's children. The summit focused on four key areas: prevention; the Department of Family and Children Services and the courts; foster and adoptive parents; and homes and services.

Visit http://www.gov.state.ga.us/document.asp?doc=summit/summit for more information on the campaign.
