Education Resource Available for Students and Families

Education GO Get It believes that every student in the state of Georgia can graduate from high school and obtain a college education. The organization has developed programs and services to help all students reach their potential through education. Here are just a few examples:

Student Scholarships
Students in grades 6 through 12 are encouraged to apply for a $500 scholarship to be placed in a 529 Education Savings Plan account. Winners are selected based on their answers of 200 words or less to four education-related questions. Applications will be accepted through spring.

GO Centers
At GO Centers students can explore career options, talk with a mentor, and use dedicated computer space for research and study. GO Centers can be located in schools, community centers, libraries or any location that has a dedicated computer space and easy public access. Trained volunteers, professional staff, and educators may provide support.

Mini-Grants
Education GO Get It invites community-based organizations (CBOs) and schools in Georgia to apply for a $500 GO Mini-Grant. CBOs must support the goals of increasing high school graduation and college enrollment, and interested schools must use the mini-grants to promote high school graduation and college enrollment. Applications are being accepted through May 12, 2006. Grant money may be used to provide GO services and programs, such as GO Centers and GO Theatre, using the GO Kit curriculum.

Online Resource Library
Many organizations and agencies across Georgia provide support and information to assist students along their educational path. The GO Online Resource Library provides students and families information on resources available in their county.
