What to Do with an Old Flag? Girls Scouts of Southwest Georgia is collecting worn, torn or faded American flags. Bring the flag to 109 E. Celebrate Kwanzaa in Valdosta The Valdosta/Lowndes County Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs Department is sponsoring a Kwanzaa celebration Dec. 26 through Jan. 1 at the Mildred Hunter Community Center in Valdosta. Come celebrate from 6 - 8 p.m. weekdays and from 1 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28. Each day focuses on Nguzo Saba, or seven principles. The event is free. Conference Features How-to's in Working with the Disabled The 2002 TASH Conference: Our Quest: Opportunity, Equality, Justice, will be held Jan. 10 - 14 in Boston, Mass. The conference will showcase innovative "how-to" strategies, research, and empowering stories and breakout sessions with cutting-edge, practical information about changing images, attitudes and systems to empower individuals with disabilities and their families. GCAPP to Hold Advocacy Day Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (GCAPP) will hold its annual Advocacy Day and Legislative Luncheon Jan. 15, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Atlanta. The breakfast and advocacy training will be held at the Loudermilk Conference Center. Breakout sessions will support advocates in polishing up their advocacy skills and enriching their understanding of issues affecting Georgia's youth. The luncheon begins at 12 p.m. in the Sloppy Floyd Building, across the street from the Capitol. Barry Zuckerman will be the keynote speaker. Space is limited.
