Welcome
to the Spring 2008 edition of Connected. On behalf of Georgia
Family Connection Partnership (GaFCP), I thank all who participated
in the 2008 Family Connection Summit, The Heart of CollaborationWorking
Together.
We
are in the midst of a unique time in our organization. We are developing
a new strategic direction and setting sights on evaluating our impact
and ability to engage the right partners to address the serious
challenges facing children and families.
We
have to continue to prove that collaboration works. We do this by
investing in our outcome analysis to shownot tellthat
the investment is paying off.
Keynote
Timothy Mescon, dean of the Michael J. Coles College of Business
at Kennesaw State University, said at the legislative breakfast,
"We've connected 'mouth with move' to raise the bar. It's not just
about what you say, its how the collaborative moves collectively."
Family
Connection will continue to improve conditions for children, families,
and communities in Georgia only if we hold each other accountable
for results and all of us own the success.
The
stories in this issue demonstrate your passion, purpose and power,
but more importantly, your proven practices emerge. I encourage
you to continue to share your stories with us so we can prove how
valuable your work is at the local, state, and even national levels.
Sincerely,
Gaye
Morris Smith
