Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, sponsors free ASSET/COMPASS Workshops for individuals working in child care learning centers and group or family daycare homes.

ASSET and COMPASS are placement exams. ASSET is required by the technical colleges to measure an applicant's basic writing, reading, and math skills. The ASSET/COMPASS workshops are designed to prepare teachers and caregivers to perform well on the exam.

If you've been out of the school for a while, this is a great opportunity to review your basic academic skills. The six-hour workshop is a refresher course offered in a supportive atmosphere. It provides helpful test-taking tips and strategies, and allows you to practice your test-taking skills.
