Six
Collaboratives
Receive Proficient Status
BY
JULIE SHARPE
Six
Georgia Family Connection collaboratives received proficient status
in the Family Connection Standards for Excellence in Collaboration
and Community Decision-Making at
the 2007 biennial Family Connection Conference in Athens.
"These
counties are at the forefront of collaboration and improving results
for children and families," said Gaye Smith, executive director
of Family Connection Partnership. "Their commitment to local decision-making
has reaped positive benefits in programs these collaboratives have
initiated, in having funding allocated to the counties, and in improved
results for children and families."
Collaboratives
submitted documentation to apply for proficient status, and were
selected by a team of Family Connection Partnership personnel and
community representatives. The counties that received the designation
were Lumpkin, Meriwether, Richmond, Spalding, Warren, and Wilkes.
