Summit Learning Day
Workshops

BY NAJA WILLIAMSON AND LAURIE SEARLE

The Summit Learning Day offered three in-depth, interactive workshops designed to help participants get there from here, and move their work to the next level.

Sustainability and Long-Range Planning shared real community examples of what to do and what not to do when a community is trying to access new resources or keep a valued program going. The workshop introduced participants to a number of funders from local government, state partners, and private foundations.

School Success empowered participants with the knowledge and hands-on tools necessary to build successful school programs within their communities. Panels of experts from various school-related circles dialogued with participants and shared extraordinary ideas that can be implemented in communities.

Economic Development introduced resources that exist to help Family Connection collaboratives strengthen local efforts and connect their work to economic development. A diverse panel of partners shared their perspectives from the business and social service community. Participants had an opportunity to network, share ideas, and identify possible action steps for moving efforts forward.
