Family Connection County Collaboratives
Family
Connection, a voluntary statewide network of 159 county
collaboratives in Georgia, is the vehicle that drives community
collaboration
to improve the quality of life for Georgia's children and families.
County collaboratives are committed to:
Working
together in Georgia for community progress.
Each county
collaborative involves many community
partners
in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic plans that
address the serious challenges facing children and families.
Sharing
and using resources more effectively.
This public/private partnership serves as a local
decision-making body. The collaborative makes decisions
about desired results, sets priorities to achieve the results, allocates
resources, and holds itself accountable for child and family well-being
in the community.
Using
data to inform decisions and improve results.
Collaborative work is driven by Kids
Count measures of how well Georgia's children, families
and communities are faring. Georgia
Kids Count is a database information for monitoring the
physical, social, economic, and educational well-being of children
and families.
Serving
children and Families for more than a decade.
The Family Connection network formed in 1991 with 15 original communities.
Since then, the network has expanded statewide into all 159 Georgia
counties in 12 regions. The "Wave"
chart shows this growth.
The
FC Fact Sheet presents a brief
