ACT National Outcomes Network & Outcomes Toolkit Accelerating Community Transformation (ACT) seeks to help increase the capacity of community partnerships to achieve and demonstrate measurable improvements in community and quality of life. This is their Web site for planning, measuring and sharing community health and quality of life improvement projects.
American Evaluation Association International professional association of evaluators devoted to the application and exploration of program evaluation, personnel evaluation, technology, and many other forms of evaluation.
Annie E. Casey Foundation In addition to the popular Kids Count resources, this site offers some valuable evaluation-related resources, especially in their Family to Family Initiative. Resources may be ordered or downloaded for printing.
Child Trends Child Trends is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization which studies children, youth, and families through research and evaluation, data collection, and data analyses. Child Trends, established in 1979, currently has a staff of 50 researchers, analysts, and administrative and support personnel. A recent publication is the Edna McConnell Clark Youth Development Outcomes Compendium.
The Community Tool Box This is the Web site created and maintained by the University of Kansas Work Group on Health Promotion and Community Development in Lawrence, KS, and AHEC/Community Partners in Amherst, Massachusetts. The site has been on line since 1995, and it continues to grow on a weekly basis. Currently, the core of the Tool Box is the "how-to tools."
Edna McConnell Clark Foundation The EMCF is a major grantmaking foundation. Their Web site's Evaluation and Knowledge Development section is very helpful in laying the foundation for understanding the theory behind the Foundation's approach to evaluation, including Evaluation Systems, Levels of Program Quality and Outcomes.
Empowerment Evaluation Page Dedicated to the exploration and refinement of collaborative, participatory, and empowerment approaches to evaluation.
The Evaluation Exchange Harvard Family Research Project's newsletter, The Evaluation Exchange, addresses current issues facing program evaluators of all levels, with articles written by the most prominent evaluators in the field. The newsletter goes out to its subscribers free of charge 3-4 times per year.
HFRP After School Initiative Evaluation Database The Harvard Family Research Project's Out-of-School-Time database of out-of-school time evaluation profiles provides information, in an accessible way, about evaluation work of both large and small out-of-school time programs and initiatives, in order to support the development of high quality evaluations and programs in the out-of-school time field.
Targeting Outcomes of Programs (TOP) Targeting Outcomes of Programs (TOP) includes a seven-level hierarchy that integrates program evaluation within the program development process. It has been developed by Dr. Kay Rockwell of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Dr. Claude Bennett of the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service, USDA.
United Way Outcome Measurement Resource Network The Resource Network's purpose is to provide United Way of America's and other organizations' outcome measurement resources and learnings. Includes descriptions of UWA outcome measurement resources, pricing, and ordering information, selected outcome and performance measurement initiatives of United Ways; health and human service agencies, governmental and other nonprofit organizations and excerpts from the agency manual, fulltext articles, and annotated links to other internet resources.
W. K. Kellogg Foundation Search their Knowledgebase for valuable resources. Many are available online, including their new Logic Model Development Guide and the Evaluation Handbook.
