Results Accountability
Results
accountability is the process where local leaders come together
to:
- Make
decisions about what results are desired.
- Set
priorities to achieve the results.
- Allocate
resources.
- Hold
themselves accountable for the well being of children and families
in their community.
It
helps the Family Connection collaboratives to focus on achieving
a vision of positive outcomes for all of Georgia's children and
families in their communities in five areas: healthy children, children
ready for school, children
succeeding in school, strong
and stable families, and self-sufficient
families.
Family Connection Results Accountability Framework
To
achieve this vision requires a statewide focus on results and a
reform of the current system of accountability. The Results Accountability
Framework identifies three major changes that need to be made in
order to improve results for families and children:
- Changes
in the ways decisions are made at the local and state levels.
- Changes
in how families are supported.
- Changes
in the current system of financing and budgeting.
Evaluation
is a primary tool of results accountability. Promoting results accountability
and adhering to recognized program evaluation standards ensure that
collaboratives are making progress toward the goal areas identified
in their evaluation plans.
