About Georgia KIDS COUNT
Georgia KIDS COUNT, a project of Georgia Family Connection Partnership, compiles current, reliable data on child well-being in each of our state’s 159 counties. We seek to enrich local and state discussions concerning ways to offer Georgia’s children a better future. Our vision is that Georgia’s children will be healthy; ready to start and perform better in school; live in stable, self-sufficient families and in strong communities.
Georgia KIDS COUNT reports year-to-year data highlights, trends, and disparities on child well-being to inform planning, budget, and policy decisions regarding priorities, services, and resources that impact children, families, and communities in our state. Georgia tracks 45 Indicators of Child Well-Being in five result areas that support our vision:
- Healthy children
- Children ready to start school
- Children succeeding in school
- Stable, self-sufficient families
- Strong communities
KIDS COUNT is a state and national effort funded by Annie E. Casey Foundation to track the status of children. Georgia Family Connection Partnership is the state's designated KIDS COUNT grantee.
