The educational status of mothers is a key factor in shaping healthy outcomes for children. More than one in five babies in Georgia have been born to mothers with less than 12 years of education.

Children from Low-Income Families Enrolled in the
Georgia Pre-K Program
Early learning and Pre-K programs narrows the gaps between disadvantaged and other children in vocabulary, writing, math, and social skills. Children who are from low-income families, or who are born to mothers with less than a high school education are more likely to enter school lagging behind their peers.
