The
Georgia 2006 KIDS COUNT Data Book
provides a demographic profile of Georgia's children, accompanied
by maps and graphs that show racial and ethnic disparities among
children for specific indicators of well-being. Maps
are color-coded and provide a picture of our children living in
different geographic regions statewide, ranked by an indicator.

Children
from Low-Income Families Enrolled in the
Georgia Pre-K Program
Early
learning and Pre-K programs narrows the gaps between disadvantaged
and other children in vocabulary, writing, math, and social
skills. Children who are from low-income families, or who are
born to mothers with less than a high school education are more
likely to enter school lagging behind their peers. |
