In Georgia there are 118,000 young adults, ages 18-24, who can be considered "disconnected"—not enrolled in school, not working, and with no degree beyond high school. The percent of young adults who are disconnected in Georgia is 15%, equaling the national average. Census data show that 11% of teens ages 16 to 19 were not enrolled in school and were not working in 2000.
