Assembly completed the 2007 session April 20. This issue provides
the summary of this year's legislative session.

Legislators
have completed 36 of 40 possible days. Check out this week's
update to find out the status of the FY07 and FY08 budgets
and pending legislation.
HB 340 will
be discussed in a public hearing in Senate Rules this morning.

26, 2007 |
URGENT: HHS
Committee Passes HB 340, which cuts PeachCare eligibility
from 235 percent of the FPL to 200 percent.
This bill
is up for a vote in the House on Tuesday, March 27 (Day 30).
Proponents for the bill state that this will save the PeachCare
program money in the future. Opponents believe the bill will
negatively impact children.

URGENT: HHS
Committee Passes HB 340, which cuts PeachCare eligibility
from 235 percent of the FPL to 200 percent.
This bill
will go up for a vote in the House as early as tomorrow (Day
29), but no later than Tues., March 27 (Day 30). Proponents
for the bill state that this will save the PeachCare program
money in the future. Opponents believe the bill will negatively
impact children.

Legislators
completed 27 of 40 legislative days. While PeachCare funding
is still in discussion with federal and state leaders, the General
Assembly has scheduled a two-week break. The session will reconvene
Monday, March 19. |
