Who We Are
Georgia Family Connection Partnership (GaFCP) is a nonprofit organization focused on
improving conditions for children and families.
In order to see better outcomes for kids, we believe that it takes collaboration at the state and local level.
At the local level, we work with Family Connection collaboratives in all 159 counties.
These organizations bring together representatives and leaders from state agencies, civic groups,
local businesses, faith community, elected officials, and other citizens to address the challenges in
their communities. At the state level, we represent the Family Connection network to statewide
and national partners who share our vision for better outcomes for kids.
What We Do
GaFCP works with the county collaboratives to develop strategic plans that set goals
and measures/evaluates their improvement over time. Their goals are focused on children being healthy,
ready for school, and succeeding in school, as well as helping families be more stable and self-sufficient.
We work across the state with different state agencies and policymakers to educate
and raise awareness about how children and families are faring in our state through Georgia KIDS COUNT.
We share the successes that we see through the work of Family Connection collaboratives.
For instance, we’ve found that while the teen pregnancy rate has declined in Georgia,
the rate of decline was faster in counties where there was a collaborative that addressed it directly in their plans.
We know if we continue to work together in communities, identify the gaps in services, streamline services,
and share resources, children will be better served and we will see more improvements as a result.
It takes us all working together at all levels to effect change in the lives of Georgia’s children and families.
